Our Mini Story
In 1998, we purchased our first miniature horse. Wayne, my husband, wanted me to get something for the kids that was small and "safe". I had three full size horses at the time and our children were ages 4, 2 and 1. The truck driver that picks up the milk at our dairy had a "miniature" stallion for sale that was gentle and broke to ride for kids. At that point, I had no clue as to what a "mini" was. I went to look at the horse more out of curiosity than anything: a "miniature horse" and a stallion that was gentle enough for kids to ride???? To make an even longer story short, we purchased "Charlie Brown" and Jacob, who was four year old at the time, rode him all over the yard. He was very sweet natured and loved kids.

Since he was still a stallion, I thought why not buy a little mare to put with him. It would be fun and educational.  So, my search was on for a mare. I searched the Horse Trader and the internet day and night. I wanted to find one close by so I could travel to "see it" before I buy it. I ran across the Unicorner Farm out of Axtell, Texas (just east of Waco). Bob and Debbie Brown were very helpful and super friendly. I went to look at an older pinto mare they had that was also pregnant. While there, my daughter, Maggie, was being followed by a black mare. She reminded me of the Welsh mare my sister and I learned to ride with. I made arrangements for the purchase of the pinto mare Concho White Feather. At that time, Bob and Debbie warned me that these little horses were "addictive" and "they were like potato chips, you couldn't have just one". I thought that was strange...to be saying that...I would soon learn the validity of their comments! Later that week, I called them to ask if they would sell the cute black mare that followed Maggie. I made arrangements to meet them after Feather foaled. We planned to meet in Glen Rose at a miniature horse show they would be showing. Well, that was the icing on the cake for me and my oldest child, Jacob. While we were looking for Bob and Debbie, we watched part of the show and watched people preparing their horses. I was very intrigued and it gave me that "want to" feeling that I would get when I had shown full size horses.

We now have two Miniature geldings and a Classic Shetland gelding that are shown by our kids and myself. Our little herd consists of three broodmares, two stallions, several foals, a miniature donkey (our guard dog) and my very first horse (full sized horse) to ever raise from a baby and train...Razz--he is now 25 years young.

On the Home Page, you will find links to our horses.  There you can view pictures and their "story".  Occasionally, we will have a horse for sale...so, please check back or email if you have any questions.
